Conference EUREKA 2016, 13 December, The Hague, The Netherlands

EPEE and EVIA are delighted to invite you to our inaugural conference

“EUREKA 2016: Heating, Cooling & Ventilation: Sustainable technologies for a better life”.

This unique event will showcase the heating, cooling and ventilation industry’s impact on the European Union’s energy goals and demonstrate the potential, attractiveness and innovative nature of our industry, and provide an excellent platform for networking.

One of the highlights of the calendar year, EUREKA 2016 will assemble representatives from industry, users, and the academic community, including students, to discuss the future of the HVACR industry, how we can prepare the future for the next generations, and what role today and tomorrow's policies should play.

The objective

Identify the needs of the next generations and explore how our sector can ensure sustainability and comfort in the long term!

The concept

09.30 - 13.15 - The introductory Plenary Session will open the way for four interactive panel sessions in which distinguished speakers will share their views on the current developments and issues of the HVACR industry.

14.30 - 16.00 - These panels will be followed by two break-out sessions in two separate rooms, in which panellists, moderators and participants will be divided into several discussion groups to address key questions on the needs and desires of the next generations and how industry and policy should adapt.

The themes

The panel and break-out sessions will focus on the cold chain and buildings through the following themes:

  • Refrigerants: The impact of the new F-Gas rules in Europe and beyond
  • Indoor Air Quality: Increasing political awareness on indoor air quality & thermal comfort
  • Food waste: The role of refrigeration in reducing food waste
  • Buildings: Driving energy efficiency in buildings

What happens next?

The conclusions of the discussions brought during the two break-out sessions will be summarized at the end of the day during the final plenary session. The EPEE and EVIA Secretariats will put these conclusions together after the event to form a “call to action”. This call to action will be shared with all participants to allow them to sign it if they wish to, and use it in the future.
